When you type in "emerging technology in 2011 with potential use " in your Google search bar, you come up with a site on wikipedia about a list of new technology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emerging_technologies#Electronics in the Electronics section of this page, you can find some interesting things, like flexible electronics, such as phones, and other things. there is also an electronic nose. This nose can sense spoiled food, chemical weapons, and even cancer! so far there is only comercialization on this product, but on other things in this section, they have prototypes already made!
Alos, when you type in "emerging technologies in 2011" a site known as gizmag.com shows up. http://www.gizmag.com/ is the site. they have things advertised sort of, just showing pictures of what is being developed. The first thing on this page will show you a Kodak camera that can capture videos of up to 720p under water! Another product on this page is the LEVITATR bluetooth keyboard, with magnificent features! It is made to flatten, and relax, so to say, when you are not typing, but when you would like to start typing, the "but when activated the chiclet keys rise up and illuminate to offer some gratifying tactile typing" . doesn't that sound cool?
